First look at brand new Never Mind The Buzzcocks set ahead of reboot

HERE’S a first look at the revamped Never Mind The Buzzcocks set, which has clearly been designed by someone who longed to visit a nightclub during lockdown.

Decked out in shades of bright blue, purple and red, there’s no chance new host Greg Davies will be dozing off with this assault on the eyes.

Pulling up a brown leather chair at the desks as team captains will be Bake Off’s Noel Fielding alongside newly-single This Country star Daisy May Cooper.

Comedian Jamali Maddix will accompany them as a regular guest on the panel.

The swirling dishes dotted around the walls with microphones resemble bits of satellites – making me think this Sky reboot of eight episodes and a one-off Christmas special is going to be out of this world.

Chip too hot to handle

TEMPERATURES and tempers soared on dating show Too Hot To Handle when a row broke out over . . . chips.

I can reveal a behind-the-scenes bust-up had nothing to do with secret snogging or love rivals locking horns.

Instead, security were called when two contestants argued over which country fries potatoes best.

Arizona’s Chase DeMoor and French model Marvin Anthony were in the kitchen of the luxury Caribbean estate discussing food when it kicked off.

Contestant Cam Holmes, who got together with Emily Miller on the Netflix hit, said: “It was towards the end. Everyone was stressed, tired and it was a legit argument over American and French food.”

Emily added: “They were properly squaring up.

“One of the team was like: ‘Security, please come in’.”

They need a trip to the British seaside – no-one fries a potato as well as us.

Amazon: Farmer Jez back

AMAZON Prime have confirmed my story that they have commissioned a second series of Clarkson’s Farm.

Unlikely farmer Jeremy Clarkson has proved a huge hit by opening the fields of his Diddly Squat farm in Gloucestershire to the cameras.

Filming has begun on series two, and Jeremy said: “I’m absolutely delighted that, once again, you’ll be able to spend some time with Cheerful Charlie, Gerald, Lisa and, of course, Kaleb. We are such a happy team.”

Head of UK Originals at Amazon Studios, Dan Grabiner, said: “It is that authenticity, charm and humour combined with the farm’s fantastic characters which have made the series such a hit.”

Jumping off a cliff

LOUISE MINCHIN says deciding to leave BBC Breakfast was like “jumping off a cliff”.

Viewers suspect this is her last week after co-host Dan Walker mentioned the programme taking a break when the Olympics start on Friday – only for her to briskly reply: “I’m not here.”

Corrie on for now Kirk

CORONATION Street actor Andy Whyment has signed a six-figure deal to keep him on the soap as Kirk Sutherland for another 12 months.

While he has been part of the furniture on the Cobbles since joining the soap in 2000, the actor’s star really rose when he was runner-up on I’m A Celebrity in 2019.

Andy quit Corrie in 2003 with plans to appear in the film Carry On London, but after the project hit a series of set-backs Andy returned to play hapless, loveable Kirk.

A source said: “Kirk is firmly established as one of the most popular characters in Corrie history, so Andy is a huge asset to the cast and bosses do not want him going elsewhere.

“The viewers adore him and, as was shown in the jungle, he’s a genuinely nice bloke and also popular on set.”

I predict Kirk could outlast Ken Barlow at this rate.
