Shailene Woodley reveals secret agreement she and fiance Aaron Rodgers made after surprise engagement

SHAILENE Woodley has revealed the secret agreement she and fiance Aaron Rodgers made after their surprise engagement.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback stunned fans in February when he thanked his "fiancée" during an MVP acceptance speech.

The pair had kept their romance a secret, and now Shailene has let slip that this was because they made a pact not tell anyone.

The happy couple want to be in charge of the information that is revealed about their relationship.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter she confessed: "When we announced that we were engaged, we wanted to do that only because we didn't want someone else to do it before we did.

"And we didn't do it for months and months after we had become engaged, but the reaction to it was really a lot, and so we were like, ‘Let's just politely decline [to talk about the relationship] for a little while and live in our little bubble.'"

According to the magazine, the two were introduced through mutual friends, both musicians, and grew their bond during the pandemic, moving in together within a few months and traveling back and forth between California and Wisconsin.

"You could travel, but you had masks on," Shailene recalled. "There was a sense of anonymity that otherwise I don't think we would have had. We were really able to get to know one another the way we wanted to get to know one another and not have any noise or chaos around us."

Fans of the couple were left in shock earlier this year when Aaron let the world know he was engaged to Shailene.

While making a virtual appearance to accept the 2020 MVP as he gushed: "It's an honor to win this award for the third time.

"2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change and growth, some amazing memorable moments.

"180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season."

He then shared: "I got engaged."

He added: "Off the field, I got a really great group of people that support me. So I'd like to thank my team, and my fiancée…."

This would have been a not so head-turning announcement, had it not been for the fact that just days prior, rumors began to swirl that Aaron was dating Shailene – neither party has officially confirmed their relationship.

Aaron's love history is filled with many famous faces, including actress and TV personality Olivia Munn – the former pair dated from 2014 to 2017.

After they parted ways, he went on to date former race car driver Danica Patrick, 38, from 2018 to 2020.

As for Shaliene she was previously linked to dating Australian-Fijian rugby player Ben Volavola.
