Adele has discussed her feelings on British weather while claiming that living in California is “good” for her. The Grammy Award winner originally relocated to America with her family back in 2016, but previously stated that real estate prices were her main motivation behind the move.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 35-year-old has detailed exactly how her LA lifestyle suits her, and why she is unlikely to make a permanent return to her native England anytime soon. The claims were made before she attended the annual Hollywood Reporter Women in Event on Thursday (December 7).
The ‘I Drink Wine’ singer explained that she needs sunshine to keep her mental health in check. She said: “I get really bad seasonal depression, so the weather is good for me.
“It is strange sometimes because I’m very British,” she continued. “Because it’s a bit harder for me to go out nowadays, what I love the most about L.A. is everyone goes to each other’s houses.
“I like that,” the mum-of-one to the publication added. Adele has previously opened up about her impressive property portfolio and told British Vogue that she had purchased three mansions in Beverly Hills.

She told the publication in 2021: “The kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever.”
The Tottenham-born star added that houses in the capital were “hundreds of millions of pounds” and that she would “throw up” if she had to spend that kind of money.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the ‘Easy On Me’ star had purchased Sylvester Stallone’s Stateside mansion.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 77-year-old stated that Adele would only purchase the house from him under one condition: she kept his iconic Rocky statue by the pool.

When asked by the outlet if he wanted to keep the sculpture, Sylvester said: “I did. But she said, ‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal’.
“She wanted the statue. I like what she’s doing; she’s making it gorgeous.”
