Alan Carr has revealed his best friend Adele was the inspiration he needed to go on a 1,000 calorie-a-day diet.
Adele, 31, wowed the world when she debuted her new look after dropping a rumoured seven stone, and it's all thanks to the drastic changes she made to her eating regime.
Now Alan, 43, wants a similar outcome as he tried out a new eating plan himself.
He told The Sun: “I have been on a weird diet of a 1,000 calories.
“Adele looks great and she has inspired me. She is looking great. I love Adele."
Adele followed the The Sirtfood diet, which means she ate foods high in sirtuin activators that can regulate your metabolism like green juice, strawberries, tumeric, olive oil and red onion.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Adele's personal trainer Camila Goodis said Adele's transformation is "90 per cent diet".
Camila explained: "She looks amazing – she's changed her lifestyle she changed diet. I believe now she's into working out, she's been working out more and more but is 90 per cent what she did is diet.
"There is no secret, I didn't help with any diet, She started doing The Sirtfood diet and now she's maintaining it and eating healthy.
"It's a good diet to shed the weight. The first week is intense, green juices and only 1,000 calories. She doesn't look too thin – she looks amazing."
It's claimed the songstress was spurred on by "not feeling great" and wanting to change something about her life following the breakdown of her marriage last year.
Adele apparently wanted to be healthier for her son Angelo, seven, whom she shares with her now-ex husband Simon Konecki.
