The Chase star Anne Hegerty joined This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as she addressed her latest move away from the ITV show. The 61-year-old opened up about the new series of Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family.

The Governess admitted she took tips from The Chase host Bradley Walsh, as the quizmaster revealed she had been studying him closely before going solo and fronting her own show.

Speaking via video link on This Morning today, Anne gushed over her colleague as she branded Bradley the “best”.

Discussing what it’s like to be a host, she remarked: “It’s brilliant! I love to be the centre of attention, I always do, and I deserve that.

“It’s so fun, I have been watching Brad for so long. Brad is just the best!”

The Governess continued: “You observe him and pick up on the things he does, but I hope I am doing a good job too.”

Holly asked if she had been to Brad for help before she started filming the show, to which Anne explained: “I haven’t really asked him, but just watching him is very helpful.”

The quizmaster who is a star on The Chase and more recently Beat The Chasers, has taken the reigns for ITV’s latest offering Britain’s Brightest Family, the quiz show that every generation can play.

This time viewers get to enjoy the celebrity edition which has featured Dr Ranj Singh, Scarlett Moffat, Shaun Williamson and John Barnes.

Meanwhile, the TV star addressed life in lockdown and admitted she “doesn’t want it to end”.

“I have loved lockdown. I don’t want it to end, although I desperately want to get back in the studio to film The Chase,” Anne told the This Morning presenters.

“I have been doing a load of quizzes and that has been very helpful and I have been reading a lot.”

She added: “But I have been catching up on stuff that has needed to be done for a long time like paperwork and cleaning and things like that.”

Anne recently discussed her time on The Chase and admitted it’s the “best job I’ve ever had”.

“I love it, I’ve been doing it for more than 10 years and it’s the best job I’ve ever had,” she explained to Radio Times.

However, the quizmaster admitted that although she has been enjoying some time off she wished they had filmed more episodes.

Anne explained: “One of the things that is frustrating about the lockdown is that we really should have filmed a lot more shows than we have, we’ve had to do a lot of rescheduling.
