Ahead of her upcoming role as Glinda the Good Witch in the film adaptation of Wicked, Ariana Grande attended the Broadway musical to do her research. And as life often imitates art, she wore an outfit that channeled her onscreen character.
Dressed in Glinda's favorite shade of pink, Ari paired a bubblegum-colored bustier with a matching puffer coat that slid down her arms exposing her bare shoulders, faded jeans, and faux fur-trimmed, heeled sandals typically associated with the bedroom. She accessorized with a long Chanel pearl necklace and a face mask (in pink, of course).
The singer's hair was pulled back into her signature high ponytail, and at one point, she covered her brunette tresses with a Wicked-branded baseball cap.
Before the show, Ariana met with Brittney Johnson and Lindsay Heather, who respectively play Glinda and Elphaba in the Broadway edition. "You were so very, very brilliant," Grande wrote to the musical's stars on her Instagram Story, according to People. "Truly an honor to see and hug and hear and witness you both. I am weeping! Still! Words simply do not suffice. Everyone was so remarkable. I feel so deeply thankful to have experienced this tonight. Floating!"
Back in November, it was announced that Ariana and Cynthia Erivo were set to play Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba in the big-screen adaptation of the musical. The pair revealed the news with matching Instagram posts that included candid photos of them FaceTiming each other. "Thank goodness," wrote Grande, referencing the name of the song in the musical's second act. Meanwhile, Erivo quoted Glinda, writing, "Pink goes good with green."
