Amy Dowden’s ‘A day in chemo’ video
Amy Dowden has taken to her Instagram stories to share her latest health update with her 595,000 followers.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, who is battling breast cancer, began by thanking everyone for their “lovely messages and comments”.
She then went on to explain how she was feeling following her latest round of chemotherapy.
“Found with his chemo much easier on chemo day, with my first four cycles of EC (Red Devil) I was constantly sick,” she wrote over an image of her giving a thumbs up while cuddled up on a sofa in a pink hooded robe with a fluffy blanket over her.
“My symptoms are delayed with this one and I do find it easier personally to deal with.

“I’ll be resting up over the weekend and hoping after my injection later to stimulate bone marrow to help with white blood cells that my bones won’t be too painful the next few days,” she said followed by a fingers crossed and a praying hands emoji.
She went on to remind people to check themselves for symptoms of the illness.
“I just want to help raise awareness. Remember cancer can affect anyone at any age,” she reminded people.
“You don’t get mammograms in the UK until your 50s so if you’re not checking, who is?!” she continued.
Amy’s positive health update comes after fears that she wouldn’t be able to undergo this round of chemo.

Speaking on her stories, the dancer explained: “My platelets are too low currently for chemo which is really frustrating because I feel really well.
“But my doctor said, ‘Come in on Thursday morning and let’s see if the improve’, otherwise my chemo will have to be delayed by a week which honestly I don’t really want because I just want to get this over and done with.”
Thankfully it all worked out and she posted the good news that she had been given the go-ahead to have her seventh round of the treatment on her Instagram.
She shared a snap of herself at the hospital alongside another patient who was also having her seventh chemo session. The pair were smiling from ear to ear as they both held up seven fingers.
“Yayyyyy my blood platelets were all good to go for chemo 7 and it was lovely @kiimmbo.6 7th too (a fellow pink sister on a similar journey) for us both next session we should be ringing that chemo bell and I simply cannot wait,” she wrote.
