Beyoncé and Jay-Z attend his mums wedding with daughter Blue Ivy

Beyonce Knowles, daughter Blue Ivy, husband Jay-Z and his mother Gloria Carter all stepped out into Manhattan together this week for a very special occasion.

Pictured heading for the glitzy venue Tribeca 360, the musical superstars were there to celebrate the civil partnership of Gloria, who'd just got hitched to Wiltshire Foundation president Roxanne Wiltshire.

For the bash, Single Ladies singer Beyonce, 41, opted for a low-cut pale pink dress from Dolce & Gabbana and sunglasses, while 11 year old Blue Ivy sported a green silk number.

Hard Knock Life rapper and proud son Jay-Z, 53, entered the building ahead of the women in a sleek royal blue suit, six years after helping his mum come out as a lesbian via the track 'Smile', which appeared on the album 4:44.

A section of the song's lyrics read: "Mama had four kids but she's a lesbian/Had to pretend so long, that she's a thespian/Don't matter to me if it's a him or her/I just want to see you smile through all the hate."

Gloria herself is heard saying: "The world is changing and they say it's time to be free/But you live with the fear of just being me. Living in the shadow feels like the safe place to be/No harm for them, no harm for me/But life is short, and it's time to be free."

Previously appearing on an episode of Netflix talkshow My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) emotionally told the host: "For my mother to have to live as someone that she wasn't, and hide and like, protect her kids and didn't wanna embarrass her kids, you know, for all this time. And for her to sit in front of me and tell me, 'I think I love someone', I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.

"I knew, but this was the first time we'd had a conversation and the first time I heard her say she loved her partner."

This comes after his Grammy Award-winning wife paid tribute to the late Tina Turner while out on her Renaissance world tour.

"I just want to take a second and honour Tina Turner," Beyonce could be heard saying to the Paris crowd just over a month ago.

"If you're a fan of mine, you're a fan of Tina Turner because I wouldn't be on this stage without Tina Turner, so I want you guys to just scream, so she can feel your love. I feel so blessed that I was allowed to witness her brilliance."

On her website, Beyonce also shared on Tina's tragic passing at the age of 83: "My beloved queen. I love you endlessly. I am so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience. You are the epitome of passion and power.

"We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done."
