Iconic rocker Bruce Springsteen surprised fans by making a surprise appearance at the screening of his new concert film, Western Stars, in his New Jersey hometown.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Springsteen showed up at two showings of Western Stars at the AMC Loews Freehold Metroplex Cinema in Freehold on Saturday.
Western Stars had premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Western Stars, directed by Springsteen and Thom Zimny, is a concert film shot in a barn in front of a small audience on Springsteen’s property in Colts Neck.
In an interview with SiriusXM‘s “E Street Radio”, Springsteen said, “We knew we weren’t going to tour. So, I was looking for a way to get some of the music live to an audience and so we figured that was the best way to do it. We’re looking forward to getting it to the fans when we can.”
