Cameron Diaz has opened up on her experience of being a mum to her two year old daughter Raddix in a new interview, as she said she has experienced "frustrating" times along the way.
The Hollywood actress, 49, who is married to husband Benji Madden, appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss all things motherhood.
As well as the difficulties she faces with her little toddler, Cameron, who recently shared an unusual aspect to her skin regime, explained that the flip side of the coin ends up with her apologising if she gets angry.
When Raddix starts having a tantrum, Cameron shared that she always goes through her "mom checklist".
"Did she eat? Is she tired? What time is it? When was the last time she ate? When did she nap?” she told the host.
“You just kind of start there, and you go, 'What just happened? Is there something she's trying to communicate to me?”
The Charlie's Angels actress, who has stepped back from her movie career in recent years to focus on writing books instead, went on to say she feels like it's her "job" as a parent to help her daughter process her difficult emotions.
“I feel like as a parent, my job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she's going through," the star continued.
"And be able to help her identify that and move through it."
Chatting to Kelly about the skills she's learned along the way, the A Lister said: "But you know what's also really imperative – to repair."
Laughing, Cameron declared candidly: "Like if you do blow up, just to repair that and say, ‘Oh my God, mommy lost her s**t.’”
“And, ‘I didn't mean to say that to you. If I hurt your feelings or if I upset you, I just want you to know that mommy's human too,'" the actress added.

Insisting that motherhood has been the "best thing" she's ever done in her life, it doesn't appear that acting will become a priority again anytime soon for Cameron.
She also works hard to keep daughter Raddix out of the public eye, shielding her from photographers and reporters in Hollywood.
Outside of her family life and writing, the star has also launched her own organic wine brand called Avaline.
