Cheryl has shared a rare selfie as she celebrates her 39th birthday, calling it the “best one yet”.
The former Girls Aloud star shared a photo to her 3.5 million followers to mark the occasion, where she can be seen tucking into some cake.
The star wears a pastel yellow jumper in the photo and has her brunette hair tied up in an up-do, as she reaches out towards the camera and pouts.
On the table in front of her is a slice of cake with white icing and a side of strawberries, with a cup of tea on the side.
In the caption of the photo, Cheryl – who shares son Bear with ex Liam Payne – wrote: “Thank you so much for all the lovely birthday wishes. I think I’ve had the best one yet.
“I have never been more in gratitude or contentment ! (Or ate so much cake) sending so much love”.
Fans were happy to see Cheryl back on Instagram after a few weeks break, with one writing: “Happy birthday! so good to see my queen back on here”.
Another added: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY NUMBER ONE EVER”.
While a third person said: “omg hello you!”
Cheryl’s birthday post comes after the star emotionally revealed that she will reunite with her former band mates to raise money for charity in memory of the late Sarah Harding.
Earlier this month, the star took to her Instagram story to say she will reunite with Kimberley Walsh, Nadine Coyle, and Nicola Roberts, to raise money for breast cancer research by taking part in a special run in memory of their friend, who died of breast cancer in September 2021 aged 39.
The group are working in partnership with Cancer Research UK to launch a special Race For Life For Sarah 5K event, which will raise money specifically for breast cancer research in line with a poignant and specific wish that Sarah spoke of before she died.
Cheryl started the video saying: "Around this time last year when Sarah was really sick, we were desperately trying to find a way to help and comfort her.
"You feel so helpless at times like that. One of the only things she wanted was a gala dinner.
"While that's underway and we are doing that, we felt like we could be doing more. We've decided to do Race For Life For Sarah at Hyde Park on July 24.
"I know so many of you want to support her and we'd really love it if you could join us. Walk with us for five miles, but also don't worry if you can't join us, people are doing it virtually too.
"I hope to see you there."
The run will kick off at 11.30am on July 24 in London's Hyde Park, with the Race For Life For Sarah being a special addition to the Race For Life event taking place that day.
