Denise Van Outen has revealed she has now turned to therapy in order to cope with her heartbreak following her break-up with ex-partner Eddie Boxshall.
Speaking as a guest on an episode of Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast, the 47 year old former EastEnders star told listeners that she also fears the split from Gogglebox co-star Eddie, 46, may impact the way her daughter Betsy – whom she shares with ex-husband Lee Mead – views relationships.
"With my most recent break-up, I thought I needed to be honest with her [Betsy] because she's coming up to 12," TOWIE narrator Denise explained.
"And kids have phones now and they're in school where they're going to read things and hear things, so I did have to be completely honest with her.
"There's still things I probably haven't told her or I've held back. There have been moments where I've been really upset, and you don't want your child to see you upset because it's a horrible thing, but at the same time, she does need to know as well."
Denise confirmed that she and Eddie – who was considered a step-father to Denise's daughter, having been her partner for seven years – had parted ways in January after rumours that he had been unfaithful.
Last month, the Essex-born commodities trader issued a public apology to her after news emerged that he had frequently messaged other women during their relationship.
Denise continued to the podcast listeners: "My worry is that I don't want her [Betsy] growing up thinking that all relationships fail.
"As a parent, I feel like my responsibility is to guide her through life, and I feel like I'm worried that's going to happen – that she's going to think that things go wrong, or she's going to go into relationships when she's older perhaps not with an open heart – and that's what I don't want to happen. That's where it's tricky."

In the months following their bitter split, Denise has spoken out about the end of their seven year-long romance, recently telling OK! that Eddie "ruined" their relationship "in a few selfish moments".
When asked by former Celebrity Juice star Fearne how she is currently holding up, with it being six months since her split, mum-of-one Denise disclosed: "I wouldn't say I'm fully healed, but I am getting there. I'm also – for the first time in my life – doing therapy, which I've never done before.
"I always thought I could solve everything myself, but I think because everything that happened floored me, I then wanted to start to understand why this seems to be a pattern as well – not just on the other side of it – but on my side, why I allow myself to sometimes perhaps try to fix things and make things right.
"I think I'm a bit of a fixer with people, and sometimes it's to my own detriment. I don't know if some of it is to do with the fact that because I've been working from such a young age, maybe my persona and the way that I am is to be like 'Everything is great, everything is fine', and I'm not always accepting of things when they're not."
She continued: "I'm actually really enjoying it [therapy] because I'm learning so much about myself that I hadn't even looked at myself properly.
"I want to know that I'm the best person I can be emotionally for my next relationship – and also as a mum.
"There are some things I wasn't able to talk to her [Betsy] about, and you don't want to burden your friends with it, so my friend suggested it and said, 'Why don't you try therapy?'. I actually feel like I'm getting a lot out of it, so I feel so much better than I did."
