Eamonn Holmes, 59, didn’t shy away from sharing a mischievous comment about his wife Ruth Langsford, 59, in a recent Instagram post. The This Morning presenter explained to his 551,000 followers the couple were attending a hat party on Saturday night and teased fans about the accessory he had bought for his other half to wear. In his first post, Eamonn was pictured posing for the camera in a bold green hat with metallic detailing. He captioned the snap: “Off to a Hat Party tonight… Wait til you see the one I got for Ruth!”(sic)
Later in the evening, the Northern Irish TV personality revealed all as he posted a selfie with Ruth modelling her new item.
The Loose Women panelist grinned in the picture while wearing a sparkly witch inspired hat.
Detailing the reasoning behind his wife’s accessory, Eamonn cheekily wrote: “Who’s The Witch in the background ? I hear you ask.
“If the hat fits… wear it I say!”
The journalist’s brazen remark caught The One Show host Matt Baker’s attention who simply replied: “Eamonn…”
Fans joined Matt in commenting on the post, with one person adding: “Careful there… she’ll put a spell on you.”
“Oh she already has… A Love Spell,” Eamonn wrote back.
Another Instagram user quipped: “It’s a good job we all know u love the beautiful Ruth.”(sic)
“Not nice to say that about ur wife,” a third person responded.(sic)
Eamonn’s joke about Ruth comes after his former talkRADIO co-host Saira Khan, 49, described him as a “generous feminist”.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the Loose Women favourite opened up about working with the star, explaining: “Eamonn is somebody who I’ve always respected from a distance and he’s Mr. TV.
“He’s been on TV forever and circumstances happen where you end up working with them.”
Addressing the Irish TV personality’s attitude towards his female colleagues, Saira insisted he has been a “mentor” to her in the industry.
She added: “I am so close to him. He’s the funniest, kindest, most generous feminist that I’ve ever met in my life and he really is a feminist.
“He adores women and wants them to do well and is a real fighter for them.
“He gives them opportunities and opens doors for them and he’s a real family friend and mentor to me in this industry so he’s somebody that I absolutely respect, trust and admire.”
This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am on ITV.
