Gary Lineker has been single since his marriage to Danielle Bux ended in 2016 – and it doesn’t look like his leap back into dating will be fuelled by his libido.
The Match Of The Day host has revealed he’s just not that into sex, and just prefers to have a nice meal.
More power to you, Gary.
Speaking to The Times magazine, the 58-year-old said: ‘It’s a stupid and horrible thing to say in a way, but I’m not massively into sex. I quite like flirting a little bit.
‘Going on a date and then, yes, come on, let’s do it. Do we really have to do all that? So I’ve hardly had any dates.’
The former footballer continued: ‘I’ve had the odd one. But I’m straight right from the start. I say, “I don’t want a relationship; a nice dinner’s fine”.’
Considering we’d say most pasta dishes are better than sex, we can totally see where Gary is coming from.
The star added that he was ‘done’ with marriage, although he could ‘never say never’, and is loving being single.
Gary has been married twice – to Michelle Cockayne from 1986 until 2006, and to Danielle from 2009 until 2016.
The Spurs legend – who denied dating Gizzi Erskine earlier this summer – has four children, George, 27, Harry, 25, Tobias, 23 and Angus, 22, from his marriage to Michelle, and his marriage to Danielle reportedly ended because he didn’t want any more children.
Danielle, 40, who had a teenage daughter Ella from a previous relationship, went on to have a baby girl, Romy, in 2017 with Nate Greenwald.
And Gary said that while he would have had more kids with his ex, she didn’t think it was fair on him.
He said: ‘Obviously I would have done but she said, “It’s not fair on you”. Then I said, “Well, I’d feel terrible if I stop you doing it”.’
The exes are still on great terms, with Danielle even living with Gary in their former marital home while she was pregnant.
Danielle now lives in LA with Nate and her daughter.
