George Thorogood & The Destroyers have cancelled their Canadian and U.S. 50th anniversary tour dates from April 27 through May 21 due to a “serious medical condition.”
Under a banner of “Special announcement,” the rock band said, “George has been diagnosed with a very serious medical condition that will require immediate surgery and quite a few weeks of recuperation and healing.”
“You, our fans, mean the world to us, and we know this news is not want you wanted to hear, but rest assured George Thorogood & The Destroyers will be back. We’ll keep you updated as we know more,” they added.
The band did not elaborate on the serious medical condition of the band leader.
Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers were set to resume their 50th anniversary tour after a month’s break in Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 27.
