Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson has shut her debt management business just months after starting it.
In March we told how she set up the not-for-profit company to help struggling people.
But the former Corrie favourite, 35, has wound it up because of cash concerns of its own.
Nikki’s partner Greg Whitehurst ran a similar firm but it was dissolved in 2015.
His parents Christine and Adrian were referred to police for taking millions out of their own debt company First Step.
Two years ago the Financial Conduct Authority banned the pair from working in finance for leaving 4,000 hard-up clients £6million out of pocket.
The Stockport couple – dubbed “vampires of debt” – blew £500,000 on holidays, £200,000 on cars, £50,000 on luxury goods.
There is no suggestion Nikki, who played Corrie hairdresser Candice, is involved in wrongdoing.
Her Financial Awareness Community Team promised it would talk to creditors on behalf of clients and help reduce their debts for a fixed monthly fee.
When it was launched, its website said staff included an experienced lawyer and that the firm had helped over 1,000 cases.
Nikki said on Instagram earlier this year: “If you’re in debt and don’t know where to turn, please don’t suffer in silence.”
The actress submitted paperwork to close her company last month – with the process to be completed by the end of the year.
Its Facebook page has been deleted and website closed down. An Instagram feed was last updated in May.
