Cat Deeley reveals Patrick Kielty bought her champagne
Presenter Cat Deeley, 46, and her family lived in Los Angeles where the majority of her work was for 15 years, so what made her decide to give it all up?
In a new interview, her long-term husband Patrick Kielty, 52, opened up about their marriage and the reasons behind their big move back home, as he admitted it was solely Cat’s decision.
Speaking on Gabby Logan’s Mid Point podcast, he said: “For a long time I thought I was in a 50/50 partnership, and then you realise you’re actually a junior shareholder in a 50/50 partnership.
“I think with big decisions like that, you kind of have to float stuff and see how that’s going to go.
“What was weird about it was, it was Cat who wanted to do that, it was more her decision because of being a young mum and not having the family around and not having that network of cousins and brothers and all of that.”

He went on to say that his spouse wanted to leave “at the right time” adding he supported her decision.
Despite now being back in England, the Irish presenter said he still couldn’t call London home, due to his roots in County Down.
The couple and their children Milo, six, and James, four, moved back to the capital at the start of the pandemic, where they have since remained.
They first moved to Los Angeles back in 2006 when she became the host of So You Think You Can Dance.
Cat also played the role of Camomile White in the American supernatural comedy series Deadbeat for a year.

The presenter has previously revealed that prioritisng her family was the forefront of her mind when making the decision.
Speaking to You Magazine in 2020, she said: “They have grandparents who want to see them.
“Also we didn’t think it would be fair to start Milo in school in America then lift him out when it suited us in a few years’ time.”
The final straw however was when Paddy and their son Milo were caught up in a “terrifying” gun attack at a shopping centre.
She recalls how the pair had to take cover and were evacuated out of a fire exit after a shooter was on the loose.
Cat frantically drove to the scene, not having a full idea what was happening, but soon realised it was serious after seeing helicopters, news vans, firemen and armed police going towards the shopping centre.
“It was terrifying,” she spilled, adding recalling the moment still made her “go funny”.
The incident however didn’t put Cat off completely as she and her family returned to LA last year so she could host the dance show again.
They have since returned back to London.
