James Martin has issued a health update and has announced he’s taking a break amid his cancer battle.
The 51-year-old made the announcement towards the end of his tour show in Liverpool last night, where the chef treated the crowds to cooking demonstrations, audience interactions and performances from his band, Midnight Ramblers.
The presenter took the opportunity to thank his fans as he celebrated a special milestone this week.
He said: “On a personal note, I just wanted to say thank you for 30 years of television.”
James revealed that his tour will end at the London Palladium on Sunday and after that, he will take time to recover as he undergoes treatment for cancer.

James shared a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this year to reveal he was diagnosed with facial cancer several years ago.
He said he had to have surgery for the facial cancer initially in 2018, and then it returned on “several occasions”.
Addressing his diagnosis, James continued: “On top of this I was then diagnosed with cancer on my face and I had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas when we had finished filming.
“Since then it has returned on several occasions and I have to have regular treatments.”
Fans took to the comments section of James’ Instagram post to send their well-wishes to the television personality.
