Jennifer Lopez was in full bloom in 2019. The actress, singer, and all-round entertainment force stunned attendees at the Versace Spring 2020 show during Milan Fashion Week; was lauded for hosting Saturday Night Live; finished up an electrifying tour; and received the best reviews of her career for her supporting role as a stripper-turned-entrepreneur in Hustlers.
And it would appear that she is taking the blooming analogy seriously. The 50-year-old star attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival in an attention-grabbing floral gown by British designer Richard Quinn. The mullet dress, cast in a print of pink roses and green sepals, highlighted her signature glow, which was further accentuated by a matching minaudière by Tyler Ellis and heels by Casadei. Moreover, she wore the stunning diamond and emerald drop earrings she received as a Christmas gift from fiancé Alex Rodriguez.
The former Yankee was also at the event, standing in the background as he let J.Lo take center stage to accept the Spotlight Award for her role in Hustlers. With the addition of Golden Globe and SAG nominations, Lopez essentially has the coveted Oscar nomination on lock.
“You know I’ve been in this business for a while—maybe longer than I’d like to admit,” she said when accepting her trophy. “I’ve had the great privilege of working with great directors. There was something that spoke to me about this role.”
Her portrayal of Ramona—a streetwise, glamorous New Yorker—in Hustlers is a character that exudes glamour on every occasion, something that falls into Lopez’s wheelhouse. This was exemplified when she swapped the Richard Quinn dress for a form-hugging, crystal-adorned dress hours later.
Already a multi-hyphenate, Lopez can add quick-change artist to her long list of talents.
