Japanese fashion model, Jessica Michibata, 38, has reportedly been arrested for possession of MDMA, amid claims a package was ordered to her hotel. The model and former F1 driver were married for barely a year after tying the knot in 2014.
Jessica and an acquaintance were reportedly arrested at the hotel she has been staying at in Japan, sources close to the investigation told the Japan Times.
However, the 38-year-old is denying the allegations.
According to the outlet, a customs officer found a synthetic drug hidden in an overseas package.
The package is said to have been shipped to Japan with the final destination on the shipping address being Jessica’s hotel.
Tokyo police reportedly raided the hotel and then arrested Jessica and her acquaintance.
On Monday, a statement from her modeling agency, Revive, received by the Daily Mail said: “We apologise to everyone for any concern the reports of Jessica Michibata, which belongs to our company, have caused.
“We are currently unable to contact Michibata directly and we are collecting information to confirm the facts.
“Since the incident is under investigation by the police, we will refrain from disclosing any further details.”
Although Jessica and Jenson’s marriage was short-lived, the pair are said to still be on good terms since their split in 2015.
They originally met in 2008 in a Tokyo hotel and began dating that very same year.
Their relationship was somewhat turbulent as they briefly split in 2011, before the racer proposed in a sweet Valentine’s Day engagement in 2014.
According to the aforementioned publication, the ring Jenson proposed with cost £250,000.

Jessica and Jenson got married in a luxurious destination ceremony in Hawaii in December 2014.
Since their 2015 split, the Japanese-born model has lived in the United States with her daughter, who was born in 2017 in Los Angeles.
