Johnny Depp fans serenade him ahead of 59th birthday at final UK tour date

Johnny Depp was made to feel the love as he wrapped up his surprise UK tour, with fans sending him off with a singsong ahead of his 59th birthday this week.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor has spent the past week performing with Jeff Beck on the musician’s tour across the UK. Shows have taken place in cities such as Sheffield, London and Newcastle, but last night the tour was brought to York for the final gig of the leg.

It has coincided with the end of Johnny’s libel trial in the US against ex-wife Amber Heard, which he won after a jury found she defamed him with a 2018 article she wrote about her domestic abuse experience for The Washington Post.

On Tuesday night, Johnny, 58, was pictured being swamped by large crowds outside the York Barbican Theatre but he was happy to sign autographs, clearly lapping up the support following his court victory.

It’s said that fans sang Happy Birthday to the Hollywood star as he will celebrate his 59th birthday on Thursday. Mingling with the crowds while flanked by security guards, Johnny waved to his devoted supporters, posed for selfies and joyfully accepted what appeared to be birthday cards before being ushered away by security.

The actor spent around 15 minutes talking to the crowds before hopping on his tour bus.

Johnny has grown closer to singer Jeff amid his legal troubles and the two are set to record an album together – in addition to his Hollywood career, Johnny also performs in the band Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.

‘I met this guy five years ago and we’ve never stopped laughing since,’ Jeff told the BBC.

‘We actually made an album. I don’t know how it happened. It will be out in July.’

Depp first joined Jeff, 77, on stage in Sheffield last month, stunning fans by turning up in the UK while awaiting the verdict of his defamation trial against Heard, before going on to rock up at the Royal Albert Hall shows.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor has been celebrating since winning his bombshell trial against ex-wife Amber.

After six weeks, the jury confirmed that they had unanimously reached a verdict, awarding Johnny $10million (£8million) in compensatory damages, and a further $5m (£4m) in punitive damages.

Amber, 36, won one of her three defamation countersuit claims against her former spouse, and was awarded $2m (£1.6m).

As he hopes to resume his formerly glittering acting career, Johnny joined TikTok this week and has already amassed over three million followers.
