Love Island’s Mike Boateng cleared of all charges in ‘gross misconduct’ police case

Mike Boateng has announced he has been cleared of all charges after being accused of "gross misconduct" during his time at Greater Manchester Police.

The 28 year old hit the headlines earlier this year when it was revealed he had been placed under investigation by his former employers before heading into the Love Island villa.

But Mike, who found romance with Priscilla Anyabu on the hit ITV2 show, has now shared an update on his case with his 464,000 Instagram followers.

He wrote in a statement: "Today I had my final hearing regarding 'gross misconduct' whilst serving at Greater Manchester Police.

"As you are aware, love the past 4 months, I have been subjected to public scrutiny.

"This involved members of the press harassing my family and friends and my public image being tainted through lies created by the press.

"Before today's hearing the majority of the allegations I faced were dropped. I have now been CLEARED of ALL false allegations, as well as being able to resume work within the public services (including the GMP) should I choose to.

"This has been a culmination of over three years of mistreatment. Now that all allegations have been dropped, this entire ordeal has come to an end.

"I give all glory to God. I would like to thank Judy Khan QC (Garden Court Chambers), Sahar Handford (JMW Solicitors), Terry Mcmillan (GMP) and my family for their support and help during this time.

"To anyone facing any kind of injustice — please never give up. The truth will always come out."
