Maura Higgins and Molly-Mae Hague say they ‘nearly died’ during horror boat trip

Maura Higgins and Molly-Mae Hague shared the ordeal they went through on a boat trip which left them fearing for their lives.

The Love Island stars are currently in Greece together, and hired out a boat for them, Molly’s sister Zoe and their hairstylist Jay.

The girls had planned to have a lush day sunbathing on the boat, but revealed they were left clinging on for dear life without lifejackets, and begging the captain to turn back.

Molly wrote on her Instagram story: ‘The reality of our boat day. I will never take another day in my life for granted again.

‘We genuinely thought we were going to die. I’m not even being dramatic.’

Sharing a video of her sister ordering the captain to turn back, she wrote: ‘I’ve never ever seen my sister speak like this.

‘She’s only speaking like this because we asked over ten times for them to turn the boat around and they wouldn’t’.

She also shared a photo of herself with a ‘celebratory milkshake for making it off that capsizing boat’, before adding: ‘I’m happy to be alive with you all. Here to see another day, we made it.’

Molly promised to tell her followers the full story later, but added: ‘Basically the waves were so bad the boat was almost capsizing and the drivers didn’t speak English.

‘There were no life jackets. Bearing in mind me and my sis are both fully qualified lifeguards, we were both fearing for our lives.’

Maura could be heard in the background begging: ‘Please guys, please!’, as she clung to one of the seats.

Maura also posted on her own account: ‘So guys, we got on a beautiful yacht today, well what we thought was a beautiful yacht and we nearly died, and that is the truth.

‘Strong life guard, another strong life guard and they were petrified. Me and Jay were nearly vomiting.’

Thankfully they all made it back safely, though Maura added that her ‘stomach is still turning’ thanks to the adventure.
