Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about not using contraception with boyfriend Tommy Fury after she previously confessed to wanting children in the future.
The Pretty Little Thing creative director and Filter Tan founder, 22, launched a late-night question and answer session on her Instagram stories where she revealed all.
The star, who has been candid about the fact she wants to have kids with Tommy, also 22, was asked by one fan: ‘Proper girl talk this… but what kind of contraception suits you best? I’m struggling.’
In response, Molly, who wore her long blonde hair in a sleek bun while relaxing in bed wearing a fluffy cream jumper, said: ‘When you find one, let me know.
‘Because I literally, without going into TMI [too much information], not for me.
‘The pills, I’ve been on a few, and I just can’t find the right one for me – it’s something I’ve struggled with my whole life.
In the image caption, she clarified by adding: ‘I use the Flo app to track my fertile point of the month but I don’t recommend this if you want something much safer/more accurate.’
She also revealed she’d used the Flo app for years, in order to ‘keep up-to-date with when you’re fertile’ and to ‘discover when your period falls.’
On February 3, the star revealed that she and Tommy talk about having children ‘all the time’ and that they’re in it for the long haul.
The reality stars met on Love Island in 2019, where they quickly fell head-over-heels for one another, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength ever since.
In a Q&A on YouTube, Molly admitted she is ‘so ready’ to get married and to become a mum and that she could ‘literally cry’ thinking about the future.
When asked by a fan if she was ‘annoyed’ by how interested people are in her and Tommy’s love life and future, she said she wasn’t because it’s a ‘really exciting topic’.
‘I’m so excited to have babies and all the other stuff that comes for me and Tommy in the future, like I just cannot wait,’ she gushed.
‘I love my life with him so much now… the thought of it getting even better and having a miniature human that’s half of him and half of me, like what the hell?!’
She added that despite her young age, she feels ‘so ready for that chapter in my life’.
‘I keep having to tell myself “No, no, no, not yet!” because I know that life is gonna change so much when it happens and when we do eventually have children,’ she said.
‘But it is something that we just… we talk about it every day!’
Many of her fans were quick to comment on the YouTube video, with one writing: ‘Awww Molly your going to make a lovely mummy one day ❤’
Another added: ‘So exciting for you and Tommy!’
A third added: ‘Oh my goodness! It sounds like there is lots for you to look forward to! So excited for you and Tommy ??’
In June 2021, the star also informed fans that she was to undergo surgery for her endometriosis.
Speaking to her vlog, she revealed how it was ‘kind of a good thing and kind of a bad thing’, saying: ‘I’ve told you guys for so long now that I’ve suffered with excruciating periods and so many of you guys have been commenting on my videos like, “please check for endometriosis”.’’
She added: ‘Straight away they said, you absolutely do have endometriosis, it’s as clear a day.
‘I guess it’s kind of a good thing, because at least I now know what it is. It’s not a good thing I have endometriosis because obviously it can affect your fertility, it can affect loads of things.’
Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb also starts to grow in other parts of the body, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
Symptoms include severely painful periods, pain during or after sex, pelvic pain, heavy periods, and difficulty getting pregnant.
