A new Star Wars movie is in development, though little is actually known about the film at this point.
THR reports that Sleight writer and director J.D. Dillard (pictured) and Luke Cage writer Matt Owens have been hired to develop the project. It’s not yet known if the film will get a theatrical release or if it will go directly to Disney+.
It is being reported that the new project is not related to separate Star Wars projects being created by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and Last Jedi director Rian Johnson.
Earlier this month, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that “the priority for Star Wars in the short-term is going to be, I’ll call it television for Disney+, and then we will have more to say about development of theatrical soon after that.”
