Arrest warrants have been issued in South Florida for the New York Giants cornerback and the Seattle Seahawks cornerback, who face four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
AceShowbiz -NFL stars DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar are wanted by police in connection to an armed robbery investigation. Arrest warrants have been issued in South Florida for the two pro footballers, according to Miramar Police.
New York Giants cornerback Baker is facing four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. As for Seattle Seahawks cornerback Dunbar, he is wanted on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
According to the police report, Baker and Dunbar were allegedly involved in the incident that took place early Thursday morning, May 14 at a party that began on Wednesday evening. TMZ further reports that the two athletes, who are both from Miami, were hanging at a cookout, playing cards and video games when an argument broke out and Baker whipped out a semi-automatic firearm.
Baker and Dunbar then began to rob party guests, with the latter assisting in taking watches and other valuables as directed by Baker. Cops say at one point Baker ordered a third man, who was wearing a red mask, to shoot someone who had just walked into the party, but no one was eventually shot.
The men reportedly got away with more than $7,000 in cash, along with several valuable watches including an $18,000 Rolex watch, a $25,000 Hublot and a pricey Audemars Piguet timepiece. There are conflicting reports from witnesses about whether Dunbar was armed with a gun or not.
Some people at the party told cops they believe that the robbery was planned, because when the three men were done taking valuables, they got away in three cars, a Lamborghini, a Mercedes-Benz and a BMW, which were strategically positioned to “expedite an immediate departure.”
According to one witness, Baker and Dunbar had lost around $70,000 at a party a few days earlier in Miami. They reportedly had “lost” the money in high-stakes card games and other forms of gambling. They were said gambling again at the May 13 event, when an argument broke out and Baker allegedly flipped a table and busted out his piece.
Police say they have been in contact with reps for the suspects and they’re currently working on a planned surrender. The Giants have also issued a statement regarding the arrest warrant for Baker, saying, “We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with Deandre. We have no further comment at this time.”
