Niall Horan responds to One Direction reunion rumours as he heads to BRIT Awards

Niall Horan opened up about the prospect of a One Direction reunion as he caught up with his bandmates at the BRIT Awards 2020.

Speaking from the red carpet, the 26-year-old musician spoke about his former band, who announced a hiatus in 2016.

When asked whether 1D would delight fans with a comeback, Irishman Niall kept fans guessing.

“The answer is, we don’t know. We haven’t spoken about it, and you’ll know if we do,” he told the Mirror.

Niall also responded to his former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, who teased a comeback earlier this month.

“He probably said something along the lines of it and it was flipped out of context," he mused. “We get asked about it so much that you kind of have to construct an answer on the spot.”

Earlier this year, fellow band member Louis Tomlinson appeared to tease that the band's return was imminent.

Whilst appearing on The One Show, he claimed it would be “stupid” not to give into fans wishes of a triumphant comeback.

Although the band are currently on a hiatus, Niall will get the chance to brush shoulders with his fellow bandmate Harry Styles who is also attending the BRIT Awards.

Harry will then also be taking to the stage during the awards show to perform a track from his solo album for the A-list crowd.

The Sign of the Times singer is nominated for Male Solo Artist at the ceremony.

Niall also had some words of wisdom from the red carpet for his best pal Lewis Capaldi, who just won the first BRIT of the evening.

“I’m working in the morning, and I texted him early today to say stay away from me, because I know what mood he’s in,” Niall told us when asked about partying with Lewis this evening.

“Win, lose or draw, he’ll be out there.”

Niall will also be heading on tour in the next few months with his best pal and musician Lewis Capaldi, who will be the supporting act.
