Paloma Faith admits to personal crisis as she explains social media absence

Paloma Faith has spoken about the "crisis in her personal life" as she explained her social media absence.

In a candid post shared to her Instagram on Saturday 29 January, the 40 year old, who has openly documented the highs and lows of motherhood, shared a selfie of her smiling at the camera.

The songstress wrote in the caption: "I haven't been posting much on here because I've been having a few crisis in my personal life."

Assuring fans she was working on new music, Paloma continued: "But I'm in the middle of what can only be described as a cluster f***. It's music and writing and working keeping me going!"

In her first post since January 12, the star also pondered: "Also, food for thought, you never hear a man described as a "career man" do you?

"I've been described so many times as a "career woman" and it just dawned on me. WTAF?!"

Paloma was met with a wave of support from her followers, with one person writing: "Hope you are okay. Sending you our love and positive vibes."

Another wrote: "We love and adore you and you're doing AMAZING even if it doesn't feel like it right now. We're here if you need us."

A third added: "You awesome human being! You got this, I eagerly await new music, but patiently so. Put yourself first!"

Paloma is a mother of two young daughters, whom she shares with her husband, Leyman Lahcine.

She has candidly talked about all things birth, postpartum and parenting since giving birth to her baby girl in February last year, when she had to have an emergency C-section.

When the star gave birth to her daughter in February, she shared a photo to her Instagram welcoming her little girl when she admitted she was in "a lot of pain."

She wrote: "Well I'm not pregnant anymore! I had a planned c section, I'm in a lot of pain and didn't sleep last night, but it's worth it to see and meet the new little cherub I have in front of me.

"It's been about 30 hours and already I'm exhausted, sore and my nipples are on fire with a baby piranha that wants to kill me on them every few hours but I am of course elated!"
