Perrie Edwards shares adorable video of son playing with throwback toy that only OGs will remember

Perrie Edwards has shared an adorable video of her young son Axel playing with a toy from her own childhood.

The former Little Mix star, 30, posted a video of Axel playing with a Chic-a-boo soft toy after discovering it while clearing out her garage.

Axel, who turns 2 later this month, can be seen sat with the toy on his lap and lifting what appears to be the toy's thumb up to its mouth.

Perrie captioned the video, which was shared to her Instagram story, saying: "Cleared out the garage today… Only OG fans will know" as well as adding side-eye and laughing emojis.

Chic-a-boo was first created in Japan in 1974, named Monchhichi, but moved over to European markets in 1978 after becoming a hit sensation. Due to the complicated spelling, the toy was renamed Chic-a-boo in the UK, and was a hit toy during the 1980s and into the 1990s.

Despite likely being older than his mum, Axel seemed unfazed and quickly got to playing with the toy in the garden.

This comes days following Perrie confirming her son's full name almost two years after his birth – announcing he had a middle name which paid tribute to his dad, professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

With his first name being an anagram of his dad's, some might have assumed that was a direct tribute alone, but Perrie confirmed his full name in a recent Instagram Q&A when one fan asked: "How did you decide on the name Axel for your baby?"

Perrie then replied: "His name is Axel Xander" she then added: "Like his dadda Alexander"

This wasn't the first time the celebrity couple had kept their son's name a secret, waiting two whole weeks before announcing Axel's name to the public.

Two weeks following his birth, she posted a photo of newborn baby Axel, and captioned the post: "2 weeks of loving you. I’ve never felt love like this before! Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain" followed by a blue love heart.

Since Little Mix announced their hiatus, Perrie has spent her time with family and working on her next steps, but confirmed she had signed a record deal with Columbia Records earlier this year.

Perrie has since teased the upcoming release of her debut solo album, following bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock who released her debut single in June.

Perrie recently told fans: “I’ve been a little quiet lately… and it’s because I’m working hard on my first solo ALBUM! I’ve been working with a lot of incredible writers and producers.”
