In lockdown, I’ve started Acapella Mondays at home and I’ll occasionally throw in a special guest. You may have seen the video of Bista singing When I Was Your Man, by Bruno Mars, on my Instagram.
She’s actually really good! I was surprised by her tone and she’s got a nice Norah Jones vibe about her voice.
In terms of my kids going into the industry, I want them to hold off for the minute.

Obviously, home stuff like this is fun as long as it doesn’t interfere with their school work.
The industry can be very good, but also very cruel. I’ve had my share of good and bad, but there’s a dark side. I tell them all the time, “Be nice and don’t do things that offend people and with talent you could go far.”
Junior’s musical too – he’s amazing at beatboxing and rapping – while Millie has also got a great voice. Maybe we could start the Andre Five!
There have been different challenges at home this week. Junior and Bista have had school work all day and also have to do live Zoom calls with their teachers, while Millie’s got school work too.
So, when Emily is at the hospital it’s pretty full-on, because I want to give my attention to Theo as well.
But I’ve drawn the long straw, because I get to be at home not only with my kids, but in this beautiful weather, too, so I can’t really complain!
My respect for teachers and stay-at-home parents has gone through the roof in recent weeks and I’ve definitely become more domesticated since being at home.
Emily’s excellent and doesn’t stop, but if I’ve got 10 minutes spare, I’m taking them! Emily said I was being “brilliant” at home in an interview this week.
While it’s so nice she said that, it’s certainly a team effort. She also said she’s worried about me – because I’m 47!
I am a spring chicken, but I know what she means, because no one’s immune to this disease.
I worry about my parents and Emily’s parents. If my mum and dad ring and say, “We need you” I can’t get to them.
That’s tough to deal with, but I’m just one of many going through the same thing.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have launched a mental health scheme for key workers and it’s amazing.
Mental health is a major problem and then when you mix that with what’s going on right now, it’s a recipe for disaster.
I can only relate it to Emily, but frontline workers will be undergoing so much extra stress, so I think William and Kate’s scheme is brilliant – hats off to them for taking it seriously.

Junior has nominated me to do the 5k running challenge to raise money for the NHS and of course I’m going to do it.
Afterwards I’ll nominate a few of my friends to take part as they’ve got time on their hands.
I’m still exercising as much as possible, but I’m putting my beach body on hold until 2035, as I’ve not been exercising as much as I normally would.
Obviously I’m looking after the kids while Emily’s at work, so I haven’t had much time, but I’ve been doing some workouts at home to keep my fitness up, and the occasional outdoor run.
Also, Junior wants to get me back and give me a buzz cut. I might just let him, but I want to love my mysterious curls for a little bit longer. Sorry, I just had to…
