Phillip Schofield’s daughter Molly shows her support for This Morning star as he comes out as gay

Phillip Schofield's daughter Molly has broken her silence over the This Morning star's shock announcement that he's gay.

The 57 year old TV presenter penned an emotional statement on Instagram on Friday morning where he thanked his wife, Stephanie Lowe, 55, as well as his two daughters 27 year old Molly, and Ruby, 24.

Many of his celebrity friends have showed their support across social media, including Peter Andre, John Barrowman, and most importantly, his co-host Holly Willoughby.

And now his daughter Molly has broken her silence on the matter as she took to her Instagram Stories to show her support for her dad.

Phillip's eldest daughter shared a sweet photo of them as a family, indicating that they're standing united, as she wrote: "Love you always, so proud of you," alongside a heart emoji.

In the snap, the four look happy as they can be seen sitting down in front of a lake as the sun shines in the background.

Molly isn't the only family member to speak out about his decision to come out as gay as Phillip's mother-in-law Gillian Lowe recently said she's "totally supportive" of him.

Steph’s mum Gillian, 85, told MailOnline of Friday's announcement alongside Steph’s father John: “We are just totally supportive of him.”

While everyone has welcomed his decision with open arms, a friend close to Phillip and his wife recently said Stephanie is "absolutely shattered" by the outcome of their marriage as she feels they've been "living a lie".

The insider told The Mirror: "Steph is being a rock for Phillip, as she always has been, but there's no denying she is absolutely shattered by all this.

"She and the girls love him very much and will support him as much as they can, but the knowledge they have been living a lie for so long is terribly hurtful."

"It's humiliating to think that you're married to someone who doesn't love you the way you love them," the mole added.

Phillip's representatives have been contacted by OK! Online, but have yet to respond.

After 27 years of marriage Phillip decided to take a step to being more honest with himself and his family by coming out as gay.

While he hinted that their romantic relationship is over, he has denied looking for a new partner to friend Holly, 38.

During their discussion on the ITV show on Friday, Holly asked if Phillip is looking for someone new to spend his life with. He replied: "No, I don't think so. I'm not going there. I'm doing each day at a time. This has always been a slow process.

"This was the big day and this is the day I knew everything was pointing towards.

"And I couldn't have done it if it hadn't been for you [Holly]. But no, there's no one I'm running off to."
