Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter this morning to reveal that he signed a new two-year deal with ITV to co-present Good Morning Britian.
The controversial tv personality also announced that he signed a contract confirming that he will be taking part in two more, five-part series of Life Stories.
The Good Morning Britain host went on to joke about his popularity, by claiming that this is the best Christmas present Britain could ask for this year.
He wrote: "*BREAKING NEWS* After weeks of frenzied global, possibly galactic speculation, I'm delighted to announce I've just signed a new 2-year deal with ITV to co-present @GMB & two more 5-part series of Life Stories.
"What could be a better Christmas present for the nation?"
Morgan, 54, has fronted the breakfast show since 2015, presenting alongside Susanna Reid on Monday through to Wednesday.
Earlier in the year, there were calls for Morgan to be sacked from the programme due to his comments on gender.
An online petition directed toward ITV's Chief Executive Dame Carolyn McCall calling for Morgan's removal was created in October.
The host stepping in to defend himself against the claims of transphobia which had been levied against him, branding them 'ridiculous'.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain , Morgan said: "Apparently I'm transphobic so despite spending the last four years explaining how I support anyone who transitions, and always have done, and completely support all what transgender people go through.”
He went on: “If you decide people can identify as anything they like and there are now a hundred genders according to the BBC, which they're now teaching kids, if you could be anything you like, including a two-spirit person and blah blah blah, then why can't I be a two-spirit penguin?"
This comes after Morgan taunted celebs including Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan last week and accused them of helping Boris Johnson win a landslide.
The outspoken Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter shortly after the results of the first exit polls were announced at 10pm.
The poll predicted a Tory landslide of 368 seats with Labour trailing behind with a dismal 191, giving the Conservative Party a majority of 86.
Morgan called out two Lib Dem-supporting stars, Hugh Grant and Steve Coogan, and mocked them for handing the election to Boris.
He tweeted: "Congrats Hugh Grant & Steve Coogan – you helped get Boris a landslide."
The former newspaper editor then found himself embroiled in a Twitter spat with Grant, after the actor tweeted in response to the exit poll.
The Love, Actually star wrote: "There goes the neighbourhood", prompting a vicious response from Morgan, writing: "No, there goes your credibility.
"The British people listened to your democracy-wrecking garbage & told you to f**k off."
