Piers Morgan’s former co-star Susanna Reid, 50, supports Crystal Palace and is believed to be dating boss Steve Parish after the pair rekindled their romance last year. Loyal Arsenal fan Piers, 56, said the club’s decision would cause him “too much emotional trauma” at work if he still sat alongside her.
The presenter shared an article on Twitter, which reported that former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira had agreed to be his rival team’s new manager.
In view of his 7.9 million followers, he commented: “OMG. So glad I’ve left @GMB now – this would have caused me way too much emotional trauma. CC @susannareid100.”
Piers’ ex co-star is yet to respond to his post, but instead wished England luck in their match against Germany this evening.
Many of the journalist’s fans flocked to his tweet to share their thoughts.
One commented: “Hahaha… l would have really loved to see that!
“Miss your passion Piers, all they are doing is having guest broadcasters on… there’ll never be another you.”
A second added: “I’m sure she still has your number & will supply suitable comments.”
A third penned: “So when are you coming back to @GMB??? Soon hopefully.”
It’s not the first time Piers has approached Susanna regarding their football rivalry.
Just last month, he couldn’t resist taking a swipe at her following Arsenal’s win against Crystal Palace.
The father-of-four posted a picture of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita sitting on the floor after conceding a goal in the first minute of extra time, which put Arsenal 2-1 in front.
Piers wrote: “Oops @susannareid”, along with a laughing emoji.

Susanna first began dating Steve in August 2018, but went their separate ways just eight months later.
It is believed the pair rekindled their romance again last June.
The duo are still believed to be dating after being seen out together in London back in April.
Elsewhere, Susanna has been fronting Good Morning Britain with a series of different co-hosts following Piers’ departure.
He left the show after sparking over 57,000 Ofcom complaints with comments he made about Meghan Markle.
Following the latter’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Piers said he didn’t believe a word she said.
