Rapper Post Malone is facing severe backlash for performing at a sold-out show despite the ongoing the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite several artists and bands canceling or postponing their shows in light of the growing coronavirus pandemic, Post Malone went forward and performed to a packed crowd at the Pepsi Center in Denver on March 12.
At the time of Malone’s show, Colorado had not placed a ban on public gatherings like many other states and countries.
The Pepsi Center announced on Twitter prior to the show that Malone’s concert would proceed as scheduled, and the decision drew plenty of criticism.
“Wow. Wildly irresponsible and greedy. Thanks for the $300 loss. Won’t be going, those will be empty seats. Definitely will not spend with Pepsi Center in the future either” a twitter user tweeted.
“Was really looking forward to this show tonight but with every major event in the United States being shut down I called for a refund and was denied. Really hope @PostMalone and @pepsicenter reconsider. Not worth risking people’s safety,” another user tweeted.
“A giant f**k you to @PostMalone for holding a massive concert here in Denver during this pandemic,” one user wrote. “Should have done the right thing and postponed the event.”
