Ruth Langsford has opened up about her menopause battles after it left her needing secret hair extensions.
The 59-year-old took to Instagram to candidly tell followers how the menopause thinned her blonde locks and forced her to add extensions to keep her bob looking full.
The TV presenter admitted her Surrey-based hairdresser uses extensions to keep her mane thick and bouncy.
Ruth first shared a post on her Instagram story, which showed her sporting an unusually long do.
Locks of blond hair flowed down her shoulders as she called herself Rapunzel, and joked in the caption: “long hair don't care.”

Shortly after sharing the post with her 751,000 followers, Ruth uploaded a short video where she explained that the long locks were a result of extensions, which her stylist then cut short.
The This Morning presenter told fans she uses the tape hair extensions to add thickness to her hair, which has thinned as a side effect of menopause.
Ruth’s fans seemed to very much appreciate the candid post and thanked her for her honesty as a “woman of a certain age”.

The presenter, who is married to Eamon Holmes, has always been open about the issues she's come up against while going through the menopause.
She first mentioned that her hair was thinning on the set of This Morning in 2018.
She said: “I want my hair not to be thin, it happens doesn't it? We're getting older.”
And in April last year, the presenter also revealed that the hormonal shift has left her feeling like “an angry old woman”.
