Piers Morgan, 56, has skewered conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, after he branded the widely praised Super Bowl halftime show “sexual anarchy”. The performance saw Hip Hop legends Eminem, Dr Dre, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent take to the stage together in an historic gig.

Following the show, 28-year-old Charlie wrote on Twitter to his 1.7 million followers: “The NFL is now a league of sexual anarchy.

“This halftime show should not be allowed on television.”

Charlie’s comments were met with amusement from users, particularly outspoken columnist Piers Morgan.

He shared Charlie’s tweet with his 7.9 million fans and retorted: “Time for bed, Grandpa,” with two laughing emojis.

Plenty shared in Piers’ sentiment and took to the comments to praise the Super Bowl performance and mock Charlie.

Ben wrote: “This was a great flashback of when Hip Hop was actually good. None of the nonsense they do now.”

Shannon said: “I am as socially conservative as they come and I don’t understand Charlie Kirk’s tweet.”

And @ArsenalAnoop quipped: “Imagine being called grandpa by Piers Morgan.”

However, some agreed with Charlie and hit back at Piers.

Daniel wrote: “Having standards doesn’t make you old, just means you personally aren’t there yet, Piers.”

Andrea fumed: “I agree with Charlie Kirk…you are depraved.”

And Robert replied by saying Piers was on the “wrong bandwagon again”.

Sunday’s Super Bowl marked the first time Piers had attended the game in person.

The former Good Morning Britain host shared his experience on Instagram as he was joined by his son Bertie.

Upon taking their seats, he videoed the arena and was left speechless.

He simply wrote: “Holy cr**…what a stadium,” as he scanned the venue which can hold more than 100,000 guests.

Ahead of kick-off, Piers also took to his story to share a throwback photo of himself and Snoop Dogg writing: “Excited to be going to my first Super Bowl to see my mate Snoop Dogg do his thing with Eminem and Dr Dre at halftime.

“Should be quite a show.”

He also shared clips of 50 Cent performing his track In Da Club and Eminem’s rendition of Lose Yourself.

Clearly enjoying himself, he accompanied the clip with heart eyes and fire emojis.
