Tom Parkers wife says fan support is getting them through most difficult time

Tom Parker's wife Kelsey Parker has opened up on how difficult the last few weeks have been since losing The Wanted singer.

The beloved star, husband and dad-of-two sadly died on 30 March at the age of 33 after battling a brain tumour.

Tom only discovered his diagnosis of a stage four Glioblastoma in October 2020, revealing at the time he was expected to live 12-18 months.

Despite the shock, the musician was determined to be positive and fight the disease with everything he had, explaining to his followers at the time he would be undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Sadly, Tom passed away only days after receiving an experimental treatment in Spain, yet he managed to take part in most of The Wanted's highly-anticipated tour with the rest of his bandmates.

In the wake of his death, 32 year old Kelsey shared a statement thanking the star's fans for all of their help.

"Thank you for all of your love and support," she said on her Instagram stories. "It truly is getting us as a family through the most difficult time."

She went on to speak about details for Tom's upcoming funeral on 20 April, which will be a private family service.

"I politely request that no flowers are sent to the church as we are doing flowers as a family," she explained. "If you wish to pay your requests please line the streets for Tom.

"Also I know my husband would want to raise as much money as possible, so that moving forward I can help others and raise as much awareness of this terrible disease," the mum-of-two continued. "Therefore any donations would be wonderful and help greatly."

Kelsey previously shared a notice inviting Tom's fans to join them in Petts Wood and line the route as the cars travel to their service.

She also revealed the service would be relayed on screens outside the church.

Friends and family shared their support for the grieving wife on her Instagram page earlier this week, with some even urging Kelsey to keep the whole ceremony as a family affair only.
