Kim Kardashian West’s curvaceous figure has long been the subject of widespread fascination and wonder. Some have questioned how natural it is, with many concluding that she enhanced her body with surgery (which Kardashian West has vehemently denied). And others have wondered how to get her shape themselves.
Luckily for the latter, Kardashian West is always telling the world about the methods that help her retain her hourglass figure. Here’s what to know.
Kardashian West’s workout revealed
Kardashian West works out at least six days a week for 90 minutes. Her trainer, former bodybuilder Melissa Alcantara, told People in February of 2018 that she and the reality star tend to focus on shoulders and biceps, triceps and chest, and back. Three days are “devoted to legs.”
“85 percent of our training is weight training, and the other 15 is made up of cardio,” Alcantara told WomensHealthMag.com in August of 2018.
“I work out about an hour-and-a-half every single day, heavy weights, I don’t do a lot of cardio,” Kardashian West added to E! News in a 2018 interview (via People).
Kardashian West also noted that she weighed 116 pounds. But that number has since changed. On Nov. 2, Kardashian West announced that she’d gained 18 pounds.
She went on to say that she had increased her workouts in a bid to lose weight before she turns 40 next October.
“OK, so we’re doing a night workout before my dinner, which I never do, with this one, but I figured we have to get into it at some point,” Kim said in the video (via Us Weekly). “And yeah, I mean, sometimes you fall off and sometimes you really gotta get it together and this is one of my fallen off times where I am, I think, 18 pounds up from what I was about a year ago, a year and a half ago.”
“To feel good, I just want to get it like, a really good goal weight and so that means working out at all costs,” she said. “It’s my eating. I work out but it’s like, my eating. But Melissa and I have a major goal for by the time I’m 40.”
What does Kardashian West eat?
The KKW Beauty mogul follows a clean diet, but she also gives herself “cheat” weeks.
“When I’m home, I eat all plant-based and vegan,” she told E! News in September of 2019. “I think I spent a good year and a half working out so hardcore, so now I can take a week off here and there. So every six months, I’ll take that week off.”
Her favorite treats include Mexican food and Häagen-Dazs ice cream. But doesn’t crave them nearly as much as she used to due to her healthy lifestyle.
“I’ve kind of been trained to just eat a lot healthier than I used to. I used to just eat anything and everything and I loved it,” she added to E! News in 2018. “And so I really do control that now. … I don’t want to ruin it by just stuffing my face.”
As of writing, she often documents her workouts on her social media pages. You can find her Instagram here.
