A different user even branded Myka and James as “savages.” The critic wrote, “And I thought the most brutal thing parents can do is to bribe a college so their stupid kids get an education they don’t deserve. Myka and James, who share four other children together, adopted Huxley from China back in 2017. Two years later, the 32-year-old opened up in a blog post for The Bump about Huxley being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder level 3 after she and her husband brought him back to the States. She noted that the adoption agency only informed them of his brain cyst an tumor.
On Tuesday, Myka uploaded a YouTube video titled “An update to our family” in her channel. Accompanied by her husband, she made public their decision to place their boy with another family. “There’s not an ounce of our body that doesn’t love Huxley with all of our being,” she said while fighting back tears.
“There wasn’t a minute that I didn’t try our hardest and I think what Jim is trying to say is that after multiple assessments, after multiple evaluations, numerous medical professionals have felt that he needed a different fit and that his medical needs, he needed more,” the YouTube personality continued.
In the video, James also addressed Huxley’s medical needs. “Once Huxley came home, there was a lot more special needs that we weren’t aware of, and that we were not told,” he said. “For us, it’s been really hard hearing from the medical professionals, a lot of their feedback, and things that have been upsetting. We’ve never wanted to be in this position. And we’ve been trying to get his needs met and help him out as much as possible… We truly love him.”
Claiming that she “500 percent” felt like a failure as a mom because of it, Myka went on to stress, “I didn’t adopt a little boy to share these things publicly.” She added, “Ninety-nine, 95 percent of the struggles we have never publicly aired.”
Revealing that an adoption agency found Huxley his “forever family,” the influencer claimed that the boy is “very happy” and “doing really well” in his new home. She additionally noted that the toddler’s “new mommy has medical-professional training, and it is a very good fit.”
