A new James Bond is upon us and it’s looking to be Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The 32-year-old British actor was first rumored late last year to play the titular role of the legendary 007 spy.
Matthew Belloni of Puck News has recently reported that Taylor-Johnson has “sat with [Bond] producer Barbara Broccoli, and the meeting went well.” Belloni has also said that Taylor-Johnson appears to fit the mold perfectly for the role. Belloni says he is a “great actor, British, fits the younger direction the Broccolis want to go, accomplished but not particularly famous.”
In an interview with Deadline over the summer, Broccoli said that it would be “at least two years” before the new Bond film will begin production. She added, “We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through.” Broccoli also confirms that there “isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time.”
