Alison Hammond and Gok Wan are donating clothes to charity that you can buy

Lucky shoppers can get a fashion upgrade this weekend with a bit of help from style guru Gok Wan’s own wardrobe.

Gok has donated some pre-loved finery along with TV favourite Alison Hammond, Sugababes’ Heidi Range, and Love Island’s Molly Marsh, and Adam Collard for a very special charity swap shop.

The event kicks off in Hull, where Foxy Launderette visitors can upcycle or donate old clothes for new looks, including the opportunity to get their hands on new looks and some genuine celeb garments.

TV stylist Gok is targeting the north and enlisted the help of northern celebs after research by Foxy Bingo revealed cities like Manchester (30%) and Liverpool (18%) are closely following the heels of London (59%) when it comes to leading in the style stakes.

Northern fashionistas are gaining well-deserved recognition for pushing the fashion envelope, being hailed for their bold (35%), fearless (28%), daring (28%), and brave (26%) style choices whilst southerners are conservative (23%), unsurprising (13%), and a tad boring (12%) in contrast.

Puffer Jackets top the list of fashion items associated with the North (24%) in the survey of 2,000 adults, followed by parka jackets (20%), leggings (20%) all-in-one tracksuits (20%), and Ugg boots (20%), all of which offer comfort and versatility.

Among the surprises, Gok is donating a top and jacket, Molly is handing in a much-loved leather jacket, Heidi is giving a blue velvet blazer and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Le Fil is donating a hand-painted co-ord and glam pink wig.

Gok said: ‘Having shopped and styled all around the world, I’m delighted that people are now recognising the north as one of the best fashion Meccas in the UK.’

The How to Look Good Naked host and the team at Foxy Laundrette are bringing the most fashion-forward and conscious to Hull.

This research said that over a third of Brits are waiting for their ‘glow-up’ moment, so now there is a chance to get ‘Foxy-fied!’

As well as looking good, visitors to The Foxy Launderette will be doing their bit as all items of clothing donated will support a local charity.

The Foxy Laundrette will be open on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.

Free tickets are available here on Eventbrite.
