After unveiling its all-new Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series, the Affalterbach-based marque is back to celebrate AMG’s 55th anniversary with a special-edition take on the G 63.
Aptly titled the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Edition 55,” this SUV combines the now-signature four-liter V8 Biturbo engine that produces 585 HP and 850 Nm of torque with its classic square design details and body shape, all while wearing a few new additions that make this “Edition 55” the special car that it is.
For example, this limited offering comes in either “Obsidian Black Metallic” or “G Manufaktur Opalite White Bright” paint jobs, adorned with a unique graphic set on the lower part of the doors. Elsewhere, “55 AMG” branding adorns the steering wheel, while “Edition 55” can be found on the floor mats. 22” AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design with a matte “Tantalum Grey” paint finish and a high-sheen rim flange set the car apart from others, as does a special AMG-lettered silver chrome fuel cap. Rounding out the car’s offerings are the optional AMG Night Package and the AMG Night package II specs that are applied as standard.
Red and black Nappa leather seats can be found inside alongside AMG trim elements in matte carbon, subsequently rounding out the car’s unique design.
Take a look at the Mercedes-AMG G 63 “Edition 55” above. The special pack costs €17,850 EUR (approx. $19,600 USD) above the standard car’s cost of $156,450 USD.
