After delivering a chessboard-inspired collaboration with UNDEFEATED last month, Anti Social Social Club (ASSC) has returned with a cartoonish new collection, made in collaboration with Los Angeles-based visual artist Bryant Giles.
Giles, who is also the founder of the ready-to-wear brand Gone Homme, is best known for his surrealist paintings, 40 of which were most recently showcased in his 2021 exhibition, “Shattered Glass.” As the latest guest in ASSC’s Artist Series, Giles has turned his painterly works into fashion, decorating the cult streetwear brand’s classic silhouettes with characters from his upcoming animated series, titled Mr. Guy.
“For the collection, we really tried to encapsulate Mr. Guy’s Universe, a collection of characters which figure prominently in my artwork,” Giles told Hypebeast. “I also wanted to tie in worldly influences, especially Japan, where we shot the campaign and where I am currently working on new artwork. We wanted to capture the same vibrancy and expression in the characters we chose: Everyday people I encounter and am inspired by, the very same people I’d like to see wearing the collection.”
These characters appear across an assortment of pieces, including short and long-sleeved tees, polos, crewnecks, hoodies, fleece shorts, wide-leg sweatpants, hats and socks. The color story, spanning lime green to vivacious pink, offers “a fusion of the Bryant Giles and Anti Social Social Club emotional spectrum,” per ASSC. Notably, several styles enlist garment-dying, tie-dyeing and embroidery for elevated finishes.
The Anti Social Social Club x Bryant Giles collection will launch on November 11 at 11 a.m. ET via the brand’s webstore. Prices range from $45 USD to $175 USD. Take a closer look at the collaboration in the gallery above.
