Following BAIT and Louis De Guzman‘s joint effort in the “ATOM VS. ASTRO” exhibition, the California-based streetwear store teamed up with Chicago-based visual artist and Osamu Tezuka‘s classic sci-fi manga character Astro Boy once more in its latest capsule.
The collection features a lineup of apparel items, including black and white T-shirts and tote bags, all bearing Astro Boy graphics. The geometric abstraction art style is reminiscent of the previously showcased ATOM VS. ASTRO sculpture and reflects De Guzman’s knack for fusing traditional and experimental techniques.
Available in monochrome and multi-color, the designs are said to convey the message that “the true beauty of life lies within the chaos, and that moving freely will lead you to your true purpose.” In De Guzman’s words, they “[depict] the importance of self-discovery.”
Priced at $40 USD for a tote bag, $50 USD for a T-shirt, and $80 USD for a long-sleeved T-shirt, the BAIT x Astro Boy x Louis De Guzman collection is now available online and at all BAIT chapter stores.
