Earlier this year, Blancpain unveiled the second act Fifty Fathoms timepiece in celebrating its 70th anniversary. Over the weekend, the horologer revealed the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 3 limited-edition time-teller, the third and final piece to its commemorative lineup.
From the matte black dial, and unidirectional rotating bezel to the vintage Super-LumiNova®-enhanced moisture indicator, and hour markers, the new limited edition watch possesses many of the original MIL-SPEC model’s identifiable features. Attired in a 41.3mm satin-brushed case made of 9k bronze gold, the watch offers a higher resistance to oxidation thanks to its gold-infused materiality. In line with the overall color scheme, the timepiece is paired with a woven NATO strap in black and gold.
When fully wound, the reference is capable of running up to 100 hours via its 1154.P2 caliber. The automatic movement is geared with a silicon balance spring for added anti-magnetic resistance for up to 1000 gauss, which also marks the first time the watchmaker offered a caliber with this specification.
Priced at $32,000 USD, the Fifty Fathoms 70th Anniversary Act 3 timepiece is offered in a limited run of 555 examples only. Those who are interested can enquire about its availability via Blancpain’s official website.
