Concepts and New Balance are Boston-based bastions of sneaker culture, and they boast a long and fruitful partnership that reaches all the way back to 2009’s “Freedom Trail” collection Since then, the two have cranked out everything from the 999 “Kennedy” to the 997 “Rose” and the recent 992 “Low-Hanging Fruit.” Besides all the collaborative efforts, New Balance has often blessed Concepts with the chance to release in-line colorways early and now the two have partnered up for a pre-drop of the 9060 in “Workwear” and “Indigo.”
“Workwear” offers a tan, brown and cream color scheme with a tightly-woven mesh, while “Indigo” lives up to its name with a rich dark blue shade that’s offset with silver and sail plus a wider mesh. Each is covered in premium suede, boasts a tongue badge that’s inspired by a forefoot detail on the 991 and sits atop a signature podular midsole with a 990 series-style CR device on the heel.

To celebrate the drop, Concepts is hosting an embroidery and tailoring event with sisters Cheyenne and Victoria Adrian at their New York City location. Customers will be able to shop both pairs of 9060s early, repair or alter existing clothing they can bring with them to the shop and receive a custom booklet that tells them how to perform their own DIY clothing repairs. Both the event and the release are going down on September 23, with the former running from 3-7 PM. The shoes will be available at all Concepts locations as well as the Concepts webstore, and each pair is priced at $150 USD.
