Gemma Collins had the most typical Gemma Collins interaction with King Charles in a rather unlikely meeting.
The former Towie star met the monarch and Queen Camilla on Wednesday (June 28) when she attended a conservation charity ball at Lancaster House.
Gemma, 42, has long been vocal about her love of nature and wildlife, once again showing her support for the Elephant Family at The Animal Ball this week.
This meant brushing shoulders with royalty, as the King and Queen also attended to mark the 20th anniversary of the conservation charity, given that they share Gemma’s passion for the issue.
In true GC style, Gemma had the royal couple chuckling as she actually invited them on safari with her!
Chatting first to Camilla, Gemma was in awe of the lifesize wooden elephant sculptures on display in the gardens, two of which she owns herself.
‘They are absolutely beautiful,’ she said.
‘What I love about them is the way the eyes move with you in the garden.’
Camilla was full of compliments for Gemma, admiring her eye-catching red headwear which mimicked a cherry with a caterpillar on top.
‘I’m just so happy to be here and share this evening with you,’ Gemma told her sweetly.
Praising the King for his own conservation work, Gemma shook Charles’s hand and curtsied.
‘You really are King of the planet and we love you for what you do for the animals,’ she told him.
‘Please keep getting that message out there, it means so much.’
Speaking after her meeting with the royal pair, Gemma explained that she’s looking to make a documentary to educate young people on conservation issues, hoping Charles and Camilla will get involved.
‘Me and King Charles and Camilla on safari, it would be amazing,’ she laughed.
‘I did ask him about it, I said, “Would you be up for it?”‘
The King simply chuckled in response, which Gemma decided was a ‘yes.’
Expressing her love for animals, Gemma went on: ‘In this day, there should not be anyone who shows cruelty to another living being, and this is why Charles and Camilla are close to my heart and I’m just so fascinated with all the good work they do with conservation.’
Gemma has long been a royalist, having thrown a party at her home to celebrate the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year and also posing for a snap outside Buckingham Palace amid King Charles’s Coronation.
She’s also never been shy about her feelings towards Charles, previously admitting she had a bit of a crush on him.
In 2020, she confessed her love for the former Prince of Wales in her pandemic reality show, Diva In Lockdown.
She did, however, slip up with his name, leaving fans in stitches with her pronunciation blunder.
‘I’m in love with Prince Chiles, I’m not even joking,’ she said.
‘He’s so handsome.’
Maybe Camilla needs to watch her back…
