Holly Willoughby had an unexpected reaction when she cuddled Ferne McCann’s baby Finty.

The Dancing On Ice host, 42, became the site of a ‘poo explosion’ after picking up the Towie star’s daughter, who she shares with fiance Lorri Haines, on Tuesday’s This Moning.

Holly’s co-host Craig Doyle first warned viewers the bonding moment had caused Finty’s, er, bowels to relax, declaring there had been a ‘major incident in the studio.’

After giggling, the Wylde Moon founder explained what had happened off-air: ‘I just needed a cuddle so I just jumped straight in.

‘And literally when she sat down… Finty had a release.’

While Finty’s ‘explosion’ happened while the ITV show went on an advert break, cameras fortunately captured the hilarious incident.

In the footage, Holly is seen lifting up little Finty who had clearly, er, gone to the toilet.

Holly continued: ‘I always think it’s better out than in. We all felt relieved.’

Ferne, 33, agreed: ‘It’s better out than in. It was a poo explosion. She got a bit of stage fright, bless her, on her crisp white baby grow.’

Laughing off the incident, Holly joked she and Finty had now ‘bonded’ as Fern apologised for potentially soiling her dress.

Pulling her frock down and examining it for poo marks, Holly announced: ‘I think we’re alright.’

Given that Holly is mum to three children, Harry, 14, daughter Belle, 12, and eight-year-old son Chester, who she shares with husband Dan Baldwin, we’re sure it’s nothing she hasn’t seen before.

Ferne welcomed Finty in July and shared the happy news with her Instagram followers at the time, writing: ‘It’s a girl. 06.07.23 [sic]’, next to an adorable black and white video.’

Speaking about why she chose the name Finty, Ferne later explained to OK: ‘I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before.

‘I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.’

Ferne is also a mum to daughter Sunday, five, with her ex-partner Arthur Collins.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
