Hannah Spearritt is the latest celebrity to have joined the upcoming season of Dancing on Ice.
The joyful news that the S Club 7 star would be swapping the microphone for ice skates was announced by Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain today.
This makes her the third person to sign up for the ‘Greatest Show on Ice’.
Earlier this week, the first star – boxing legend Ricky Hatton – was revealed.
Following on from that, on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, hosts Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard added another person to the lineup.
They excitedly told viewers that Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney was participating in the series which requires celebrities to master ice skating, and impress judges – which includes Olympians Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean -and viewers alike with fun routines.
Hannah, 42, told GMB that she was ecstatic to be taking part and keen to get into rehearsals.
‘I’m really excited about learning a new skill,’ she began.
‘It’s so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing. Fitness is another reason why I’m doing it! It’s really exciting.’
She will be following in the footsteps of former bandmate Rachael Stevens after she participated in the ITV show last year and was the third person to be eliminated.
Hannah’s appearance on the reality show comes after she stepped away from the upcoming S Club reunion tour.
The Don’t Stop Movin’ band are getting back together to celebrate their 25-year legacy, and originally all seven members – including Hannah, Rachel, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, and Tina Barrett – were set to be there.
However, after the death of band member Cattermole, it was revealed Hannah – who was also his ex-girlfriend – wouldn’t be going ahead with the tour.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV. Dancing on Ice will return to ITV in 2024.
