Hip hop’s 50th anniversary is being celebrated by a vast array of different entities such as the Brooklyn Museum honoring JAY-Z‘s contributions to the genre and its culture and New York’s MTA producing special MetroCards with LL Cool J, Rakim, Cam’ron and Pop Smoke. And now Interscope and Modernica are joining in on the action by engineering a Side Shell Eiffel Chair that pays homage to Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic studio album which featured classic hits such as “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang,” “Let Me Ride” and “Lil’ Ghetto Boy.”
Each piece has been hand-crafted by an artisan. Bearing an eggshell paint job, the furniture item is decorated with the album’s artwork on the backside. There are minor variations on the fiberglass textures such as creases. Modernica confirms that these are not defects but rather traits that make your chair a unique product. The legs are done up with a jet black paint job and the dimensions for the entire piece measure out to 20” x 20” x 24”.
They are available to order now via the Interscope website for $695 USD, but note that they won’t be shipping out until September 25, 2023.
For other news, Tesla is now selling a Cybertruck-inspired cat litter box.
